About HrdyaSara
The story of HrdyaSara is deeply intertwined with the story of Sara, the daughter of our founder, Mrs. Jayashree S. Godwin. Sara’s life was marked by extraordinary challenges and boundless joy. Born with severe disabilities, her resilience and radiant smile were a beacon of hope and inspiration for all who met her. Despite her constant pain, she found happiness and taught us all the true meaning of strength, love, and compassion.
Sara’s passing in 2020 was a turning point. In her memory, Jayashree founded the HrdyaSara Foundation to extend the care and love she gave to Sara to other children and families facing similar struggles. Sara’s spirit lives on through our work, reminding us daily of the beauty in vulnerability and the power of unconditional love.
“We know their pain, we know their strength, we know their love, and we want to support them in every way possible. That's what we did for Sara, and that's what we will do for every child in need because we see a glimpse of Sara in all of them.”
Jayashree S. Godwin
Ayaan's Saramuttu!
Hi Didi,
I love you very much and will love you forever! I will always remember the way you smiled whenever I called your name. That was my way of understanding that you are happy and not in pain. When Maa told me that she was planning to start a trust in your name, I was so happy! And when I saw your first ever standee with your big picture on it, I couldn’t hold back my tears. I saw you coming alive! It was the best moment after your departure that we had in your memory.
I promise I will do everything to keep you alive through this foundation in the future. Besides my own personal aspirations, I will make sure to look after you through Hrdya Sara’s Foundation
Your, Ayaan

My dear Sara (badmash), I still don’t know how to look at my life without seeing an inescapable absence of you. Sometimes I wish for you to come back. But, I don’t want you to suffer again. I know you are there in me. Sara, you were beautiful. You were special. And, you were the reason I smiled! I miss everything about you I always will. Love you, my child!
